Brussels Sprouts Five Different Ways

Hey there. Welcome to Friday, or as I called it this week “Fri-Yay.”  As in, my son made it a whole week in his crib, by himself, without getting sick, and I got to sleep through the night in my own bed. Fri-Yay!
Yeah, it’s been a rough couple of weeks around here, but we are finally getting back into a routine and sleeping again. I’m even able to cook dinners for the family again. Which means I can start whipping up some of my favorite fall vegetables.  One of which happens to be Brussels Sprouts.  You know those green, leafy, tiny cabbages that most of us used to hate when we were kids, but now that we’ve discovered their versatility we love them.

I’ve always been a big fan of Brussels sprouts.  My mom didn’t try to make me eat them when I was a child, so maybe that’s the only way I can honestly say that.  I tried them for the first time when I was dining out at a fancy, schmancy restaurant.  They were prepared in some variation with bacon and I about melted when I tasted them.  My first impression of them was heavenly so, obviously, I wanted to eat them whenever I got the chance.  Through the years I’ve tasted them in restaurants, recipes and through my own experimentation.  I’ve come to enjoy them prepared several different ways and today I’m sharing a few of my favorite recipes with you.
