Currently – January 2016

At the beginning of this year, I decided I wanted to begin a new monthly routine.  Tracking life in general hasn’t been something I’ve been diligent with, but ever since I started using my Erin Condren Life Planner, I seem to enjoy marking and tracking things a lot more. It’s great to do with the kids as they grow so much each year and it’s also really fun to go back and read at the end of the year.    I actually made a whole page in my paper planner for listing things pertaining to this topic first and then I decided I should go ahead and make it a monthly edition to the blog too.  So I present to you, my currently format for 2016.




Eating:  Everything Grilled.  We got a Weber grill for Christmas and it’s all we can think about at the moment.  Grilled veggies have been my favorite so far.

Drinking:  Teavana tea and Pink Lemonade Nuun  


Reading:  Blogs and Runner’s World magazine  That’s about all I’ve got time for these days.

Putting Off:  Making some appointments for myself.  I’m about four weeks away from having my wisdom teeth finally pulled (Eeeek!) and I’m really not looking forward to it.  And since it’s going to cost an arm and a leg, I’m doubly dreading it.

Loving:  The cooler temps.  Winter finally hit the state of Florida.

Watching:  The X-Files Reboot.  I was a serious X Philer back in the 90’s. It was at a time before I owned a DVR, so I’m re-watching some old episodes from Netflix getting pumped up for the return.  I’m really intrigued to see how they’re going to spin every thing together again.  After two movies and the season premiere, I’m really stoked.XFiles

Thinking:  I may need some new running crops since I ripped mine during the Disney Marathon.  I noticed a hole in the inner seam of my left thigh around mile five and it just kept growing with every subsequent mile.  They were my favorite Lululemon Run Inspire crops, so at least I know I can get a new pair. ripped crops

Wearing:  My new Chuck Taylors with jeans and a t-shirt.  It’s been my unofficial uniform.

Wanting:  To get back to half marathon training.  Being sick has kept me indoors for over a week.  I’m itching to get back out and train again.  But I know that I need to take it easy to get my strength back properly.

Learning:  Marathons can make you sick.  You are six times more likely to get sick after a marathon. Stress hormones – which are released in the last stages of a marathon – suppress the immune system and make you more vulnerable to viruses and pathogens for up to 72 hours after the event. It also doesn’t help that you’re surrounded by thousands of people and their gems before, during, and after the race. Guess that’s why I’ve succumb to both the shingles and the flu almost immediately following my past two marathons.

Considering:   Going back to work.  I really don’t want to go back to the restaurant biz, but it’s so easy on my schedule with hubby and the kiddos.  I could work weekends and really not change my weekday routine at all.  But then again, I’d hate myself Saturday mornings for running.  So it looks like I have a lot to consider.

Needing:  A hair cut and probably some waxing somewhere.  It’s a hairy situation these days.
