Happy New Year!!! I hope you had a safe and wonderful new year’s eve celebration. We stayed home with the kiddos and invited some cousins over for dinner and fireworks. My hubby made his arroz con pollo with plantains and a strawberry salad for dinner and we popped a couple beers, bottles of wine and eventually made a champagne toast at midnight. My daughter made it all the way to midnight (barely) and had a blast watching the fireworks and sparklers.
Last year had been one of the most amazing years of my life but it’s also been one of the most difficult as well. I’ve been through some of the most complicated and stressful scenarios and most emotional phases of my life. If you haven’t been following me for very long, this post will pretty much sum up what has happened in my life. It’s been a whirlwind. Hold on to your butts.
We started preparing to selling our house. Lots of DIY home repairs, painting, etc…. I also made the decision to stay at home full time and was forced to adjust to the change in my life. I ran two half marathons during my first trimester.
The hunt for a new house began.
I ran the Sarasota Half Marathon. It would be my final half marathon of the year and of my pregnancy.
I announced my pregnancy online.
I got selected from the lottery for the NYC Marathon, but had to defer to 2015 since I was pregnant.
I wrote my pregnancy bucket list
We found a property where we could have our dream house built. Then we listed and sold our house in the same week. Eventually, we decided to build our new house, but found out it wouldn’t be completed until July. Our final decision was to live with my parents at their beach house until our new home would be ready to move into.
We continued to pack up our house and get ready to move into my parents house temporarily. And we found out we were having a boy!!!
We finally moved from our first family house into my parents house for the Summer.
I wrote a bunch of pregnancy updates and played all through the Summer at the beach with my daughter.
I discovered a new love for prenatal yoga and took a lot of time off from running.
We learned that baby boy was ready for delivery in the head down position.
I posted my daughter’s cesarean birth story and prayed that I’d be able to have a vaginal birth after cesarean.
We finally closed on our house and moved in.
We celebrated our first halloween together in our new house and went trick-or-treating with the other neighborhood kids.
I received clearance to exercise by the end of the month and began my journey back to fitness.
I celebrated my wedding anniversary, Rosalyn’s birthday and hubby’s birthday all in this month. My SIL visited with us over the month and made a gorgeous birthday cake to help us celebrate our daughter’s special day.
Harrison started sleeping through the night and I finally started getting out of my pjs every morning.
I ran my first Turkey Trot and signed up for my first postpartum half marathon. Started half marathon training and decided to do the #RWRunStreak over the holidays.
We hosted our first Christmas in our new house and enjoyed the company of my BIL this month. I ran my first 10k ever and finished in just over an hour. Still haven’t unpacked all of our boxes from the garage, but I’m finally getting back into a routine with the baby and think I’ll have some things accomplished by early 2015.
It’s been a busy year for us. How’s did your year go?
