Brands I love

Hey guys. It’s another Friday Five and I’m linking up with the DC Gals again to bring you a topic that I personally love to share…. Brands we love. We all have them, our personal preference, our stand-by favorites, those killer staples that we just couldn’t think about racing without. Like most bloggers, I’m a big online shopper. It’s very important to me that a brand has a well thought out online presence. Do you work for a business that wants to sell its products online but don’t know where to get started with designing a website? Big Gorilla Design can help you with your web page design. Check out some of their designs if you’d like to find out more. It’s true, I hold my favorite brands near and dear and I love to give them a shout out whenever I can. So without further adieu, here are the brands that I love the most.

Brands I love

If it wasn’t for this Beast of Burden(the company’s original name) I wouldn’t have made it through training for my first half marathon. This luxury stroller doesn’t have the reputation it has for being your average run of the mill jogging stroller. This is the Cadillac of strollers here.
This ultra-padded chariot features a 5-point harness, a parking brake, and a wrist strap for safety. It’s swiveling front wheel allows for superior maneuverability on trips to the parks and shopping malls, while the locking ability increases stability when out running or when the terrain turns tough, like at the beach (which is a HUGE plus living in Florida). It’s super lightweight frame makes storage and transport a cinch. It folds with two simple steps and easily tucks in my SUV with plenty of room for additional cargo storage.
Survey any group of past or present owners and I guarantee you will hear nothing but positive feedback about the maneuverability and quality of this deluxe vehicle. The even better part is that these strollers do not loose their value. I’ll be utilizing my Duallie come June when I start marathon training, so I literally couldn’t run without it.

2. Bose Sie2 Sports Earbuds

Bose Sie2

These are the mack daddy of ear buds. When I got these, I didn’t necessarily need Bose quality sound, but these buds offer more than just awesome highs and bass. These are the only ear buds that I’ve found that fit comfortably inside your ear and don’t budge. It took a few hundred dollars worth of trial and error before I finally splurged for these. Actually, my loving husband bought them for me as a gift. I had gone through two pairs of Nike headphones, two Yurbuds, and was about to buy another less expensive brand online. An ultra running friend of mine had been talking them up for months and had finally convinced me and my husband that these would be the last pair we’d ever use again; and he was absolutely correct.
It comes in four different colors, is sweat and weather resistant, and even comes with a Reebok fitness armband.
You can check these bad boys out here. I guarantee you’ll never run with another pair ever again….. Scout’s honor.

3. Balega Socks

Balega Socks 2

The socks that I previously wore were getting the job done (or so I thought), but until I stumbled upon these, I didn’t have a clue how amazing socks could feel.
These socks offer the ultimate in comfort and support. They are super lightweight and fit like a second skin. They feature a reinforced heel and toe, have mesh construction for breathability and ventilation, and the plush under sole cushioning offers added protection. I’m especially thankful for those during my long runs. Also, I really like how the heel tab prevents the sock from slipping into your running shoes.
You can find these socks at your local Fit Niche or you can order them online
If you’ve never tried them, do yourself a favor and buy a pair now. You’ll thank me later.

4. Lululemon RunInspire Run Crops

I’ve never been one of those girls who could comfortably run in short shorts. When I’ve unsuccessfully attempted to run in them, I chaffe and constantly fight to pull out the crotch wedgies. Because of said wedgies and chaffing, I’ve always preferred to run with crops. However, not all crops are created equal. Lululemon stocks their stores with the crops that I’ve found to be the best for my own personal needs.
What makes them so darn special? Well, in addition to having some pretty fun colors, these moisture wicking running crops feature a zipper pocket in the back, chafe-resistant seams, and two front pockets/pouches perfect for storing GU’s or Shot Blocks. Because of all the wonderful pocket storage and comfort, these are my go-to racing pants. I absolutely love them.

5. Moving Comfort Sports Bras

Being a large busted runner sucks sometimes. I know lots of women who say “I’d kill to have big boobs.” Well, they have never dealt with the chore of finding the perfect sports bra – but with brands like Ryderwear UK and their selection of apparel, finding the ideal sports bra is likely not all too difficult. They’ve never spent the duration of a 5k readjusting the straps on their tit sling. I, on the other hand, have spent hundreds of dollars on sports bras and have suffered the back pain and have the strap marks to prove it. Interested in learning more about breast lift procedures? You’re not alone. My breasts are not particularly perky anymore so don’t have much of their own elasticity, which makes exercising all the more difficult. After years of struggling to find the perfect fit and dealing with the girls bouncing around, I have finally found what I refer to as the best “Over the Shoulder Bolder Holder.”
I had heard about this brand of athletic wear just recently and after sampling one of their bras, I can personally attest to the comfort and support for which Moving Comfort is very well known. I have only tried the Rebound Racer (which is pictured above), but I’ve heard that they have plenty to offer bigger busted runners. I don’t foresee changing to another brand any time soon. I’m very pleased with this one and I plan to stick with them as long as they’re around!

  1. Haley, I love Balega socks, too! I’d really love some of these Bose earbuds; I’ve always been halted by the price but if, like you said, I add up all the money I’ve spent trying to find ones that work for me, I’m sure I’ve paid for them several times already – ha! I’m going to have to bite the bullet, one of these days; thanks for the great recommendation! Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

    1. Do it. They will be so worth it. And the Bose warranty is fantastic. The button to change volume on mine stopped working and they replaced the entire earbuds for me.

  2. I’ve heard great things about moving comfort bras. I have them on my list to try out next time I am gear shopping. Right now I use the Nike ones, but they have been chafing as of late.

  3. Hehe! Love that It was called the Beast of Burden. I used a double BOB with my kiddos. It was a love hate relationship but I loved the time running with my kids and the great Mom muscles! Awesome list!

I am glad that you like them as much as everyone else. It sucks to have to spend money on stuff that doesn’t fit or just plain sucks. I am on my 2nd pair of these headphones. The first ones bit the dust after 4 years of every day use. However, the first ones were not the “fit” ones meaning I don’t know how resistant to sweat they were. The new ones are the green fit ones and they are still going strong. Glad to see you are sticking with it! Much love Haley
