Friday Five: Things in my gym bag

Hello Friday.  I’m very happy to make it to the weekend.  My week has been a pretty regular week.  My hubby was traveling all week, so I was home alone with the kiddos.   Thankfully, he is returning home this morning, and he’ll be showing up with a couple special visitors who are staying with us for the weekend.  In addition, I’m all excited for tomorrow because at midnight, it will be my birthday.

its-my-birthday-lily-himym-gifThis year I am turning 36 years old.  And even though I don’t view the number thirty-six as an old age, I do feel like forty is creeping up on me ever so quickly.  Before I know it, I’m going look in the mirror and be all like….

I'm old

To help me celebrate another year of getting older, my hubby has taken the liberty to invite a group of my friends over to our house for a special dinner party.  He ordered sandwiches and cupcakes from my favorite little gourmet deli and we’re planning to pop a couple bottles of wine to celebrate my special day.   It’s sure to be a great time.

If you don’t remember my birthday from last year, I’ll remind you how my husband surprised me with a big surprise party where I was cornered into spilling the beans that we were expecting.  I’m actually really looking forward to kicking back with a glass or two of wine this year and taking it easy with my pals.

Until that moment comes, I guess I should get back to this post..  So since it’s Friday, you know that I’m linking up with the DC trifecta again for another edition of the Friday Five.  This week we were prompted to discuss what we have inside our gym bags. Since I workout in my living room at home, I really don’t have a gym bag.  So I’ve decided to leave a link to my post about what I carry in my race day bag..   I travel with a whole slew of items in my race day bag, so make sure to go check it out to see all my goodies.

And please go visit Cynthia, Mar and Courtney’s blogs to see what they’re sharing today.  And if you didn’t get the chance to check out my Body After Baby: 4 Months Postpartum checkup from yesterday, you can read all about it out here.  Also, I will be hosting a Spartan Up! giveaway on the blog soon, so stay tuned for that as well…

Hope you have a wonderful weekend.  I’ll catch you on the flip side.

What’s something you can’t imagine not keeping in your gym bag?  Do you have a race bag and a gym bag, or do you combine the two?

  1. I’m a work out at home gal – but when I do races I ALWAYS hve to have a dry change of clothes…I usually drive myself home from the race and it feels amazing to put on a dry sports bra, flip flops (to air out those toes 🙂 ), and dry undies! I’m just saying – a girl needs to feel dry after running!
