Happy National Running Day to all my fellow runners.
Why do you run?
Me, personally, I run for many reasons. Today I will run because I generally miss running. Since I’ve began my 60 day INSANITY challenge, I have barely logged any runs. Truthfully, my legs have been taking a beating with all the plyometrics. I’ve really had to scale back and take it easy with the pavement pounding as to not push myself to injury.
Since starting this challenge, I’ve ran maybe 6 times (in a little over month). That just ain’t cutting it for this girl. Running give me clarity and sanity. I’m still a happy wife and mother, but that sense of accomplishment is missing. Don’t get me wrong. I’m very pleased with the way my INSANITY training is progressing, but there’s just something so different about being alone with the road that transforms your mind and body.
So this day will be celebrated with a very easy 3-4 mile loop around my neighborhood. Cross your fingers and pray it doesn’t rain.
How are you celebrating National Running Day?
