A few weeks ago I heard about this event that was kicking off again this December. It’s a 5k; there’s no color, no foam, no glow sticks, or any other gimmicks.
It’s just a regular 3.1 mile run……
in the Caribbean…..
on the island of St. Maarten……
….during a 7 night cruise on Royal Caribbean’s decadent cruise liner the Allure of the Seas.
If that doesn’t sound like a runners ultimate vacation, I don’t know what else does.
In addition to the 5k race, the relaxation of the cruise life and the entertainment and shopping available onboard, the entire week will be full of activities such as:
- Private meet and greet sessions with high profile racing athletes
- Siminars and lectures with high profile athletes
- Personal training tips from experts
- Speed tests onboard the track of the ship
ALSO INCLUDED: 1 night hotel stay in Ft. Lauderdale and transfers to and from the ship.
The cruise sets out of Ft. Lauderdale and sails into the Bahamas and through the Virgin Islands of St. Maarten and St. Thomas.
The ship features a world class fitness center and an onboard running track. With activities like rock climbing, spinning and yoga, it truly is the perfect vacation for any endurance athlete.
You can gather more information about this awesome event here.
This is the perfect combination of fitness, relaxation, fine-dining and a bit of pampering. Talk about some different scenery for your run, this beats a treadmill any day.
You know, we have been researching another cruise line and they offer a regular 5K on their private island. Which was definitely a pro for me, because i am kind of opposed to the whole cruise thing (I get seasick) in general.
Are you going to go?
I am going to go! On a big ship like this, you tend to forget you’re even on a ship in the ocean.
